FireTiger is owned and maintained by a private owner, webmaster@firetiger.net.
Most of the stuff on this site interested the owner in some way or another;
that's about the only reason it got here. Some things like the web
hosting was birthed just out of the need for some cash flow to keep
this server going. Other services because users requested them or
maybe just because the owner wanted to mess around with some new program here or there.
This site is best viewed with Opera or Internet Explorer 5+ but was
designed with cross-browser functionality in mind too. For example, the navigation bar's
expand and collapse feature pretty much only works in Opera and IE5+. Most FireTiger traffic is
via Opera and IE browsers anyway. The rest is a mix of Netscape, other smaller broswers,
and search engine bots.

FireTiger's only support comes from the owner right now (with the exception
of some other folks helping out admin the CS server). Of course you're always
welcome to contribute to FireTiger's goals in a variety of ways. Contact webmaster@firetiger.net if you want to help. The main need right now
is a total cash flow of $200 per month to get a really good Internet connection to eliminate
those cable modem lag spikes that plague the CS players so much.
FireTigeris also in the need of a quality motherboard that will run more
recent processors and then of course a real processor. Another, larger hard drive
would help to so FireTiger would be able to mirror those FilePlanet files everyone
wants but does not want to sit through 2 hours of a line for, plus having to sit through the
actual download time to get it. FireTiger could also use some larger memory modules (256/512/1024 MB PC100/PC133).

php_lib_login:PHP library functions for authentication. It has been modified quite a bit to work with FireTiger
properly; frymaster@ihateclowns.comprovided the original libraries.
- phpBB Fetch All:phpBB (forums) API to put the latest forum posts on the main page.

Interface examples: The site was influenced by the look/feel of all the good web
site's interfaces such as Planet Half-Life(especially the GameSpy way of displaying archived news), FilePlanet, and
Black & White Center.
- WDVL: Great site for learning advanced web technologies. Especially their series on Perl.

First of all, this web site will work great with all the main browsers and even most unusual ones out there. However, the webmaster
of FireTiger suggests the use of the following browsers:
Opera is the best browser out there. Works just as well as Internet Explorer but has many, many more
features that make browsing so much easier if you just take a few minutes to read the keyboard and
mouse shortcut help files.
Eh, it works and everyone has it. Internet Explorer is better than Netscape, but it has a lot of
vulnerabilities if it is not patched with all the latest Microsoft patches (which sometimes does not even fix the problem anyway).
